At PGLS, we provide high-quality and idiomatic document translations in nearly any format, and in more than 200 languages and regional varieties.

In addition to document translation, technical translation, and marketing translation, we also provide editing/proofreading services, Machine Translation (MT) with Post-Editing (MTPE), and more.

All our translations are completed by professional, qualified translators and editors, all of whom have gone through our rigorous recruitment and vetting process. Additionally, translation projects are overseen by our team of expert Project Managers and go through our complete, multi-step Quality Control Process to ensure that you receive an accurate and idiomatically appropriate translation.

Our Translation Process

While PGLS can customize translation workflows to suit your specific needs, this is the standard Translation process dictated by our GlobalCheck® quality management system.

1. PROJECT PREPARATION

Your dedicated Project Manager will collect any relevant assets that will help produce the best final product possible. If available, they will collect glossaries, translation memories, style guides, or any other assets pertinent to your project. Your Project Manager will then facilitate file preparation for optimal translation integration. This includes formatting, uploading assets to our CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tool, and assessing which translator(s) are most suited for your project, depending on subject matter expertise and language knowledge.

2. TRANSLATION, EDITING & PROOFREADING

The translator assigned to your project will familiarize themselves with existing assets to provide the most accurate and idiomatic translation possible, in line with the tone and voice of the source materials, and your organization in general. Upon completion, the translation is revised by an editor of equal skill in the language and domain. Finally, a proofreader reviews the translation to ensure clarity for the target audience.

3. QA CHECK & CLIENT LINGUISTIC REVIEW

After the translation, editing and proofreading (TEP) process is complete, your project is then checked by an independent contributor. During this stage, you or a member of your team can perform a linguistic review. If necessary, the Project Manager will work with the editor and translator to reconcile your changes.

4. FORMATTING & DESKTOP PUBLISHING (DTP)

As an additional step, the translation can be sent to one of our desktop publishers for layout in the proper application. During this stage, PGLS makes sure the translated content is formatted correctly and consistently.

5. DELIVERY

When the process is complete, the final translation is delivered to you in your desired format. When applicable, we seek project feedback as we continue to improve and optimize our translation processes to best suit your needs and preferences.

Translation QA

Our translators’ performance is evaluated on the basis of orthography, lexicon, syntax, register, and formatting. If the average score of the respective parameters is below expectations, the translator is put on coaching status. The translator’s workload will be reduced until their average score has reached the desired level again. If a translator is put on coaching status twice within a 12-month period, they are removed from the team.

Translation Memory QA Report

PGLS can assess and improve the quality of pre-existing translation memories and glossaries to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment before we start working on your first translation project. That way, we can identify previous inconsistencies and errors to make sure we do not waste valuable time or resources during the course of your translation project with PGLS.
